The Village Pourhouse - East Village

64 Third Ave. (at E. 11th St.)
Manhattan, NY 10003

Type:Restaurant/Pub

Two things recommend the Pourhouse immediately;
  • outdoor seating (a luxury in the city)
  • and reasonable prices.

The American fare is good, the staff is helpful and the clientele is the usual East Village mix of after-work and college crowd.

On my visit I opted for the Pourhouse burger (how could you not!) which was perfectly prepared and came with some of the tastiest seasoned fries I've had in a long time. One word of caution though, sodas tend to be a little on the flat or watered-down side; this isn't a place people usually go for soft-drinks. However, aside from that, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Pourhouse for a casual dinner with friends or - if you're flying solo - as a great place to hang out and people watch.

You really can't go wrong here if you're looking for good food and a fun atmosphere at a reasonable price.
